Handcrafted wooden tankards and drinking mugs in the Norse style. Each is turned and finished by hand from solid wood, banded in steel or brass-look metal and sealed food-safe for cold drinks. They make a heavy, satisfying gift — for a groomsman, a homebrewer, or anyone whose shelf deserves better than a glass. Engraving available on most pieces, shipped from Memphis, TN.

Viking Beer Mugs
Norse Viking Beer Mug — Handcrafted
Price range: $102.00 through $105.00Drinking Vessels of the Hall
Norse feasting ran on wood, horn and pewter rather than glass. Our tankards and horn mugs are turned and carved by hand, banded where the original patterns called for it, and finished with a food-safe interior seal so they can actually be used rather than just displayed.
Wood, Horn and Care
Wooden tankards are turned from hardwood and sealed inside; horn mugs are natural ox horn, so colour and figure vary between pieces — no two are identical. Both should be hand-washed in cool water and left to air dry. Neither is dishwasher or microwave safe.
Viking Beer Mug FAQ
Can I actually drink from these?
Yes. The interiors are sealed with a food-safe finish. Serve cold or room-temperature drinks; avoid boiling liquids, which can lift the seal.
How do I clean a horn mug?
Rinse in cool water with a little mild soap, then air dry upright. Never put horn in a dishwasher or leave it soaking — heat and prolonged water will crack it.
Will my mug look exactly like the photograph?
Close, but not identical. Horn is a natural material and the banding and colour vary piece to piece, which is part of the appeal.
Do they make good groomsmen gifts?
They are one of our most requested wedding orders, usually engraved with names or a date and paired with an axe or a pocket knife.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are inspected and dispatched from Memphis, TN within 1–2 weeks, with US delivery typically taking a further 3–7 business days.
