Viking shields were plank-built wooden rounds with a central iron boss — light enough to move fast, tough enough to catch an axe. Ours follow that construction with wooden bodies, steel bosses and rear grips, finished in painted Norse motifs. Complete the wall with a battle axe, Viking sword or helmet.

Can these be used for reenactment combat?
They're built for display and light costume use. For full-contact combat reenactment, dedicated sparring-grade shields are recommended.

The rear grip works as a hanging point on a sturdy hook or picture anchor rated for the shield's weight.
