What can be engraved?
Most pieces in the catalogue can take a mark: axes, swords, seax, chef knives, hunting knives, pocket knives, drinking horns and jewelry. If a piece cannot be engraved, its product page says so before you buy.
Where is the engraving done?
Engraving is cut in the United States, in Memphis, Tennessee, after the piece has arrived from the workshop in the Czech Republic and passed inspection, and before it is sheathed. It is the last thing that happens to the steel.
What engraving styles are available?
Three options are chosen on the product page: lettering of up to 30 characters in a clean serif for names, dates and short lines; Elder Futhark runes, where you type in English and the runes are cut with the English recorded on the order for proofreading; or a family crest, monogram or emblem from an image you upload. Line art or a solid silhouette reproduces better in steel than a photograph.

Can I return or change an engraved piece?
You have 12 hours from purchase to change or cancel. Once cutting begins the order is final, because an engraved piece cannot be sold to anyone else. The lifetime warranty still stands on engraved pieces, and if the mark is cut wrong the piece is replaced.
How long does an engraved order take?
Processing runs 1 to 2 weeks. The piece is pulled, inspected and oiled in Memphis and the engraving is cut at the end once it has passed. It then ships free inside the United States from Memphis and arrives in another 3 to 7 days.
