A karambit is a Southeast Asian utility knife with a strongly curved blade and a finger ring at the pommel. The ring gives retention — the knife stays in your hand even with a loose grip — and the curve is built for hooking and pulling cuts rather than pushing.
Utility First
The shape started as an agricultural tool, and it still excels at cutting cordage, opening boxes and any task where you draw the blade toward yourself. Ours are forged from layered 1095/15N20 with rosewood or pakka wood handles and ship with a fitted leather sheath.

What is a karambit used for?
Utility cutting with a pulling motion — cordage, packaging, harvesting. The curve and ring give control and retention that a straight blade does not.
What is the finger ring for?
Retention. Your index finger goes through it so the knife cannot easily be dropped or pulled from your grip.

How do I sharpen a curved blade?
Use a round ceramic rod or the corner of a stone, working in short sections along the curve rather than trying to draw the whole edge flat.
