We ship worldwide. Ransack Viking pays the import duty and the VAT on every international order, so you pay the price on the site plus shipping and nothing at all on delivery.
Shipping inside the United States is free on most pieces. Heavier ones, such as the longer swords and the hammers, are 49 dollars. Outside the United States the duty paid rate is 69 dollars per order, however many pieces are in it. Oversized pieces that need a long box or a tube, meaning polearms, spears, shields, armour and swords over 44 inches, are 69 dollars inside the United States and 90 dollars everywhere else. Those are the only shipping figures on this site and every one of them is live in the checkout now.
What duty paid actually means for you
When a parcel crosses a border, somebody has to pay the import duty and the sales tax the destination country charges on goods coming in. Most shops leave that to the buyer. The parcel lands, the courier holds it, and a message turns up asking for a customs charge plus a fee for collecting it.
We hold a duty paid account with our carrier. The duty and the VAT are settled by us before your parcel travels, and the paperwork goes with it. Nothing is billed to you at the far end.

Your total is the price you see plus the shipping figure shown on the piece. That is the figure that leaves your account, and it is the figure the parcel arrives against.

How your order is made and sent
Ransack Viking is a United States company based in Memphis, Tennessee. Every knife, axe, sword and Viking piece we sell is handmade in the Czech Republic the old way.
The pieces are imported into the United States and inspected here in Memphis. If you have ordered engraving, it is done in the United States after the piece arrives and before the parcel is despatched. Then it ships from Memphis to you, duty paid.
That is the same route for a bearded axe from the Viking axes, a blade from the Viking knives, something long from the swords, a spear or shield from Norse arms, a helmet from Viking armor, or a piece from engraved and personalized with a name cut into it.
The steel is short to describe. Plain 1095 run at 54 to 58 HRC, and Damascus of 1095 and 15N20 forge welded and run at 58 to 60 HRC. The steel glossary explains what those two steels are. You do not need to ask us first
Buyers outside the United States write to us before ordering more often than anything else. Can you ship to me, will the piece get through, what will I owe at the border. The answers are all on this page, so here it is plainly: place the order.
We do the checking. Every international order is read against its destination before it leaves Memphis. If the destination or the piece turns out to be a problem, we cancel the order, refund you in full, and write to tell you why.
There is no homework for you to do and no message to send. Choose the piece, pay the price plus the shipping shown on it, and we carry it from there.
The few shapes we look at closely
Most of this catalogue travels anywhere on the list without difficulty. Axes, hunting knives, seaxes, armor, shields, drinking horns and jewelry are ordinary goods across every destination we ship to, and so are the great majority of the swords.
A small part of it is a different matter. Some countries treat certain shapes as restricted goods. A butterfly knife is the clearest case, restricted in Britain, in Germany and in Australia alike. Australia also treats double edged daggers and throwing blades as controlled goods needing permission before they may be brought in, and Britain has a rule of its own about long curved blades, which is why the katanas get looked at one at a time. About one piece in twenty here falls into any of those shapes.
Knowing which piece is restricted where is our job and not yours. We keep that list, we check every order against it before the parcel is made up, and where a piece cannot lawfully enter a country we cancel and refund in full rather than send it out to be taken at the border.

It does not move with the weight of the parcel or the country you are in, so a second axe or a third knife on the same order does not change it. No. Order in the normal way. Every international order is checked against its destination before it leaves Memphis, so the work of knowing what can go where sits with us rather than with you. If the destination or the piece is a problem, we cancel the order, refund you in full and write to tell you why.
Which countries can I order from?
All of Europe as listed on this page, the United Kingdom including Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man and Gibraltar, and Australia. Every one of them is live in the checkout with the duty paid rate attached, and so is every other country, because the checkout carries a worldwide rate behind the named list. The United States is our home market. Whatever country you are in, the checkout will take your order.
