A flamberge has an undulating blade, cut in waves down its length rather than straight. The shape was real, used on Renaissance greatswords and on hunting swords, and it draws the eye faster than any other profile on a wall. Lengths on this tag run from a 28 inch short sword up to a 43 inch longsword with a matching dagger.
The waves and the hilts
Wyrmtide is the set, a 43 inch flame bladed longsword with a 15 inch dagger to match, both with rune etched ricassos and leather wrapped grips. Flamewhorl is the compact one at 28 inches with a blackened swept ring hilt, a teardrop pommel and a black scabbard. Brazenmere runs 33 inches overall with a 26 inch blade, a brass ring guard and a brass pommel. Knotflame is the Damascus one, 38 inches overall with a 31 inch blade, a knotwork cut guard and a steel tipped scabbard. Wavecrown, Ripplehook and Ringflame all sit at 35 inches, differing in the hilt: a disc pommel with a timber scabbard, a blackened hooked guard over a knotwork etched blade, and a brass side ring hilt with a Celtic cross pommel. Flamewave closes it out as a Damascus longsword with a parrying hook guard.
