Larp armour has three jobs: survive being hit, look right on camera, and let you sit down in a camp chair afterwards. Foam manages the second only. These are real steel and real hide, which means they are heavier and they last, and it means you will want a padded layer underneath before the first day is out.
What is on offer and what it weighs on you
Ringmantle is the mail, a mild steel hauberk in butted round wire rings with short sleeves and a thigh length skirt. Legiondrake is the Roman option, a lorica segmentata cuirass in 18 gauge banded plate with brass buckles and leather straps, which is the most striking thing here and the most awkward to get into alone. Gripfast covers the hands, forged steel plate gauntlets with articulated finger lames and Elder Futhark engraved cuffs. On the hide side, Nightvane is a black leather Viking cuirass with a Vegvisir engraved chest plate and side lacing, and Knotwold is the tan medieval version with a Celtic knotwork chest panel and buckled shoulders.
