Leather armour will not stop a sword the way plate does, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something. What it does is turn a glancing cut into a bruise, weigh a fraction of steel, and let you move for a whole weekend without needing a bath and a lie down. For most reenactors that trade is the right one.
Bodies, shoulders and one odd mask
Nightvane is the Norse cuirass, black hide with a Vegvisir engraved chest plate, steel studs and side lacing. Knotwold is the medieval version in tan with a Celtic knotwork chest panel, buckled shoulders and side straps. The shoulders come separately. Nightscale is a set of black leather scale pauldrons with riveted overlapping scales and a Valknut panel, and Wolfcrest is veg tanned with articulated lames and an engraved wolf head cap. Silkscale is the full Japanese suit, tan hide lamellar with cream cord lacing, a wide brim helmet, shoulder guards, tassets and thigh guards. Ravenbeak is the strange one, a plague doctor mask with brass rimmed lenses and a knotwork brow band.
