Leather is the part of a kit that gets used every single day and thanked never. A sheath protects the edge, protects you, and decides whether a blade gets carried or left in a drawer. These are cut, tooled and stitched by hand, with welts sewn in so the stitching sits below the edge where a blade cannot reach it.
Scabbards for blades, sheaths for edges
Grimhold is the plain sword scabbard, oak tanned hide with a Valknut stamp, a steel throat and chape, cut for blades up to thirty inches. Staveguard is the more finished one, rune tooled over a wooden core, wool lined, with a steel chape and a matching belt for blades to thirty one inches. On the knife side, Knotwelt is tooled with a Celtic knotwork panel with brass rivets and a belt loop, for blades to ten inches. Quillhide is the oxblood one, with a tooled raven panel, a steel snap retention strap and a hand stitched welt, for blades to six inches. Haftmask is the axe sheath, with a tooled Mjolnir panel and steel snaps for heads to a six inch edge.
They sit in scabbards and sheaths, beside the rest in accessories and the worn pieces in Viking belts and buckles.
