Reenactment armour has to survive being worn rather than looked at. That means riveted rather than glued, buckles you can work with cold fingers, and a fit that lets you raise your arms without the whole thing riding up round your ears. Everything here is made to be used, which is why none of it is light.
Mail, plate and hide
Ringmantle is the mail, a mild steel hauberk in butted round wire rings with short sleeves and a thigh length skirt. Legiondrake is the Roman cuirass, 18 gauge banded plate with brass buckles and leather straps. Nightplate is the serious one, a full suit of blackened 18 gauge plate with articulated pauldrons, gauntlets and sabatons. Gripfast is the hands on their own, forged steel gauntlets with articulated finger lames and Elder Futhark engraved cuffs. Rivetward is a riveted leather brigandine with the chest sized to order, steel buckles and a rune cut chest plaque. Knotwold is the plain tan cuirass, and Runecuff is the pair of embossed leather bracers with steel roller buckles.
The rigid pieces sit in plate armor and the padded and riveted ones in brigandine and gambeson. Mail rusts, so read caring for chainmail.
