We can put a company logo, a group crest, a name, a date, a line of text, Elder Futhark runes or a Norse symbol on knives, axes, swords, drinking horns and most other pieces in the catalog. The pieces are handmade in the Czech Republic. Engraving is done in the United States, and orders ship from North Babylon, New York.

Who orders these
Company orders make up most of the work. Staff gifts, thank yous sent to clients when a project closes, and pieces handed out at a conference or a dealer meeting. The logo goes on the blade or the head.
Retirement and long service awards are the other steady one. A name, the years served and the company mark on a single piece, often ordered in ones and twos.
Groomsmen gifts and wedding parties come in through the year. Each piece usually carries a different first name, with the wedding date repeated across the set. There is a whole wedding and groomsmen gifts collection if you want to see what tends to get ordered.
Clubs, re-enactment groups and event organizers order the larger batches. A chapter name, a group crest, an event year. Norse and medieval groups, hunting and motorcycle clubs, and organizers who need prizes.

What we can put on a piece
A name or a line of text. A first name, a full name, a short motto, a call sign. Longer text needs more room, so the piece has to suit it.
A date. A wedding date, a founding year, a span of service.
Elder Futhark runes. A name carried over into runes, or a word you specify. We confirm the exact rune string with you before anything is cut. The engraving page has a converter you can try yourself.
A Norse symbol. Vegvisir, Helm of Awe, Mjolnir, Valknut, Yggdrasil and the other marks we hold as artwork.
A logo or crest from your own artwork. What engraves well is a clear, high contrast file with a single color mark. Solid shapes and firm outlines come out clean. Gradients, drop shadows and hairline strokes do not, and very fine detail does not survive on a small blade. Small type set under a logo is usually dropped so the mark stays readable.
Single piece rates are $19 for a name, date or line of text, $19 for Elder Futhark runes, $39 for a Norse symbol and $49 for a family crest. A company logo or a group crest across a batch is quoted separately against your order.
What can be engraved on
Knives, axes, swords, drinking horns and most other pieces in the catalog take engraving. Blades, bolsters, pommels, axe heads and horn bodies all hold a mark, and the flat area available decides how large the artwork runs.
A few surfaces will not hold one. Heavily textured finishes, wrapped handles and some rough forged faces give nothing clean to cut into. If the piece you picked has that problem, we flag it before the order is taken and suggest another surface or model.
How an order runs
- You send the brief and the artwork. Which pieces, how many, what goes on them, and any date you are working to.
- We come back with pricing and a lead time for that actual order. Pieces commissioned to spec run 4 to 6 weeks in the workshop, with the engraving on top. Engraving on stock is quicker, and that lead time comes with the quote.
- You approve a layout proof. We show the artwork placed on the piece at size, and nothing is cut until you say it is right.
- The pieces are made or pulled from stock and engraved.
- Everything is checked against the approved proof and shipped from North Babylon, New York.
Questions
Is there a minimum order?
It depends on the piece and on what is going on it, so we give you the minimum against the order you are asking about rather than posting one figure for everything. Put the piece and count in the form and it comes back with the pricing.
How long does a batch take?
For pieces commissioned to spec, allow 4 to 6 weeks in the workshop before the engraving is done. Engraving on stock we hold is quicker, and that lead time comes with your quote. If you have a fixed date, say so and we will tell you whether it can be met.
Can you match our brand colors?
No. Engraving cuts the mark into steel, horn or wood, so what you get is the tone of the material, not a printed color. A logo built from two or more colors is reduced to a single color mark first. We do that as part of the proof.
What artwork do you need?
A vector file is best, so EPS, AI, SVG or PDF. If all you have is a raster file, send the largest clean version, ideally on a plain background. A logo pulled off a website at screen size is usually too soft to use, and we will say so before quoting.
Can each piece carry a different name?
Yes. Individual names across a set are normal on wedding parties and staff awards. Send the list with your brief, spelled the way you want it cut, and each name is set against the shared logo. That work is priced against the order.
