A fixed blade has no hinge, no lock and nothing to fail under load. The steel runs from point to butt and the handle is bolted to it. That is the whole argument, and it is why anyone who works a knife hard carries one. Everything on this tag is built that way and comes with a sheath.
The shapes and what they are for
Two karambits open it: Clawshade in 1095 and 15N20 with an ebony handle and a knotwork engraved ring, and Talonveil at 9 inches overall with green micarta scales and a brass bolster. The bowies handle the heavy cutting. Brasscliff is 15 inches overall with a brass double guard and a stacked leather handle, and Sawcrest adds a sawback spine to a clip point blade with a cord wrapped grip. The tantos are the stabbing points: Knotguard with a stacked leather handle and a knotwork engraved guard, Pitchpoint blackened with buffalo horn scales at about 11 inches, and Runespine in Damascus with walnut scales and Elder Futhark etching. Trenchknot is the odd one, a 15 inch bayonet with a Valknut etched fuller and a ribbed steel grip.
The Norse shapes sit in Viking knives, the points in tanto knives, and the claws in karambit knives.
