Larp armour has to survive a weekend of being hit, look right in photographs, and still let you sit down in a camp chair afterwards. That rules out most decorative kit. Everything on this tag is built to be worn rather than hung, which usually means real steel or real leather rather than resin.
The four kinds and what each costs you
Mail first. Nightweave is a blackened mild steel hauberk cut to a 48 inch chest and knee length, in 9 mm butted rings in a 4 in 1 weave. Scale is lighter and easier to move in: Wyrmscale is an 18 gauge steel scale shirt with russet leather binding and brass rivets, and Ashscale is the blackened version with a rune plaque. Plate is Nightplate, a 16 gauge blackened cuirass with an articulated fauld and runed buckles. Leather sits in the middle. Roanward is a studded cuirass for a 44 inch chest with brass domed rivets and an engraved rune plaque, Nightscale is a set of black leather scale pauldrons with a Valknut panel, and Wolfcrest is veg tanned with articulated lames and an engraved wolf head cap. Palewarden is the layer underneath, a channel quilted linen gambeson with a tall standing collar.
