The Valknut is three interlocking triangles found on Gotland picture stones and on the Oseberg ship burial, usually near Odin and usually near the dead. Nobody can prove what it meant. That has never stopped anyone wearing it. This tag gathers the pieces that carry the mark rather than one product type, so a shield boss sits next to a sledge hammer.
Where the mark is cut
On armour it goes on the face you see. Ravenhold is a 24 inch round shield in red and white with twin ravens and a steel Valknut boss. Rimbind is the boss and fitting kit on its own, engraved and supplied with a full leather strap set for building your own board. Thornpeak puts it on a conical nasal helmet beside the brass rivets, and Nightscale works it into a panel on riveted black leather scale pauldrons. On steel tools it is engraved into the head: Anvilsong is a Damascus blacksmith sledge with a leather wrapped handle, and Emberfall is a 1095 rounding hammer on an American ash handle. Wyrmtooth carries a runed brass socket under a winged Damascus spearhead, and Sableknot runs the mark down a blackened 37 inch blade.
Shield parts and building kits sit in shield bosses, and the forge pieces in blacksmith tools. For what the symbol is and is not, read the Valknut.
