A shield on a wall does more work than any print. It fills a space, it carries a colour, and it gives a room a focal point without anyone having to explain it. These are real boards with real edging rather than plaques, which means they have weight and need a proper fixing rather than a picture hook.
The faces and their sizes
Ravenhold is the Norse round, twenty four inches across with twin ravens on red and white and a steel Valknut boss. Starguard is the same size in steel with a painted star and concentric bands and a polished rim. Aquilorn is carved hardwood with a bronze toned Roman eagle, leather arm straps and a forged grip bar. On the tall side, Crossmarch and Palecross are Templar kites with a red cross pattee, one on black and white with an engraved gilt border, the other on white with a rawhide bound edge. Quarterfell is the heater, quartered navy and white with a rawhide edge and a knotwork border, which is the easiest shape to hang square.
The boards sit in Viking shields, with the rest of the hanging pieces in Viking home decor. Read choosing a shield for display first.
