A leather knife sheath is the difference between a blade you carry and a blade that stays in a drawer. It needs a hand stitched welt so the edge never touches the thread, a retention strap or enough friction to hold the knife upside down, and a shape cut for one specific blade rather than a size range. Everything here either comes with one or is one.

The standalone piece is an oxblood leather sheath with a tooled raven panel, a steel snap retention strap and a hand stitched welt, cut to fit blades up to 6 inches. It is the answer if you already own a knife that arrived bare. The rest are blades that ship with their own. The kukri choppers sit at about 16 inches overall with tan and brown leather sheaths, several holding the traditional karda and chakmak companion blades, with handles in rosewood, walnut, buffalo horn and stacked leather, one carrying a helm of awe bolster and one a runed steel pommel. There is a broken back Viking seax at 13 inches overall with an 8 inch blade, a rosewood handle and brass bolsters, a Damascus tanto at about 12 inches with walnut scales and an etched Elder Futhark row, a Damascus karambit with an ebony handle and a knotwork engraved finger ring, and a gut hook hunting knife with a stag antler handle and a tan sheath. Steel is plain 1095 high carbon at 54 to 58 HRC or forge welded 1095 and 15N20 Damascus at 58 to 60 HRC. Prices run from 129 dollars to 269 dollars.
Carrying and storing
Leather holds damp, and damp is what marks a carbon steel blade. Dry the knife before it goes back in, and store it out of the sheath for anything longer than a week.
