Pieces are handmade in the Czech Republic, then imported, inspected and shipped from Chicago. Engraving is done in the US after arrival. That is the whole supply chain, and it is worth saying plainly because a lot of the market is vague about it on purpose.
What comes out of the Czech shops
This tag covers the widest spread in the catalogue. Viking and arming swords with overall lengths from roughly 27 to 46 inches on blades of 20 to 35 inches. Bearded axes, battle axes, war axes and throwing sets on hafts around 15 to 28 inches with cutting edges from 3.5 to 6 inches. Spears, polehammers, helmets and mail. Wakizashi, sabres, short swords and falchions. Steel is either plain 1095 high carbon at 54 to 58 HRC or Damascus of 1095 and 15N20, forge welded and acid etched, at 58 to 60 HRC. Hafts are ash, oak, walnut and birch. Grips are leather wrapped or wood, and the fittings are steel or brass.
Why the origin matters to a buyer
Central European smiths have been making this exact class of piece for reenactors and collectors for decades, which shows up in details that are easy to miss and expensive to fake. Fullers that run true rather than being ground on afterwards. Peened pommels rather than glued ones. Heads with a proper eye and a wedged haft. Inspection and what happens in Chicago
Every piece is opened and checked after import. That means edges, peening, haft fit and scabbard fit, because a long shipment is hard on a wooden haft and on a leather scabbard that was cut damp. Engraving happens after that check rather than before it, which is the only sensible order. Anything that fails inspection does not get listed.
